The Handpan is a beautiful instrument that was originally created by a couple in Switzerland, in the year 2000, inspired by the Caribbean steel drum and first called the Hangdrum… Combining percussion and melody, the handpan creates beautiful meditative soundscapes… Its shape and design allows for the sound to flow and resonate with a lovely sustain…
Throughout the private lessons we cover the handpan history, as well as the different techniques used to play it, music theory, chords, patterns and melodies that can be created with this instrument…
The lessons include at the beginning a part of free flow – this allows to confirm the agenda for the session. We then move into learning some technical elements and at the end is offered an opportunity to integrate what has been learnt via creative expression.
Some delicious herbal tea is offered at the end of the session.
